Tesco, Sainsbury's and Asda urgently recall food over salmonella risk

Food products found to be potentially containing salmonella are being recalled by Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury's.

Certain batches of items such as frozen shortcrust and puff pastry could be contaminated with the bacteria.

Customers who purchased any of the products in question should return them as soon as possible for a refund.

Symptoms caused by salmonella include fever, diarrhoea, and abdominal cramps.

As reported by the Daily Express, see below for the full list of products being recalled from supermarkets.

Tesco and Sainsbury's

Jus-Rol Shortcrust Pastry Blocks 1KG (frozen)

The frozen pastry blocks have been recalled due to the possible presence of salmonella.

The item has been recalled from stores including Tesco and Sainsbury's.

A statement, published on Tesco website, read: "Jus-Rol is recalling certain date codes of two of their chilled and frozen pastry blocks, as they may contain salmonella."

The affected packs are 1kg with the best before date of September 2023.

The batch codes 361 and 362 are affected.

The products can be returned to store for a full refund.

The statement continued: "If you’ve bought an affected product, please don’t use it.

"Instead, return it to a Tesco store where a full refund will be given. No receipt is required."

Asda

A number of other Jus-Rol products are being recalled from Asda.

This was also due to the potential presence of salmonella and customers can return the items to store for a full refund.

Tesco, Asda and Morrisons

Nuby Incredible Gulp Cup

The supermarkets also have an ongoing recall for a children's product.

The Gulp Cups have been recalled due to a defect in some batches, which may result in some parts of the cup detaching.

As a result, they are a potential choking hazard.

The recall affects products sold between November 1, 2021 and January 14, 2022.

They have the batch codes WF10V and WG08V.

The items can be returned to stores for a full refund and no receipt is required for this.

Morrisons

The Snaffling Pig Perfectly Salted Pork Scratchings

The snack, which is sold in Morrisons, was recalled due to the risk of salmonella.

Shoppers should check for 45 gram packs with the best before date of June 11, 2022.

The FSA said: “If you have bought any of the above product do not eat it.

“Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.

“If you require further information, please email hungry@snafflingpig.co.uk or call on 020 3096 5200.”
