Tesco is selling Greggs food in stores - see full list of locations

Tesco is selling Greggs food at six of its stores - meaning shoppers will be able to tuck into a sausage roll while they do their weekly food shop.

The supermarket opened new Greggs cafés in its Leicester Hamilton and Romford sites this week, creating ten jobs.

It comes on top of the four Greggs cafés that have opened in Tesco stores since last October.

Each café sells Greggs favourites including sausage rolls and steak bakes, with customers also able to use the Greggs app to place click and collect orders.

Customers will be able to take advantage of Greggs’ deals including its breakfast roll or baguette and drink combination, starting from £2.60.

The Tesco stores with Greggs cafes inside are:

  • Tesco Wath upon Dearne Rotherham (opened October 22, 2022)

  • Tesco Walkden, Ellesmere SC (opened November 27, 2022)

  • Tesco Failsworth (opened December 23, 2022)

  • Tesco Telford, Wrekin RP (opened April 22, 2023)

  • Tesco Leicester Hamilton (opened May 3, 2023)

  • Tesco Romford (opened May 2, 2023)

Tesco isn't the first mainstream retailer to team up with Greggs - the bakery chain has also started opening cafés in Primark.

Greggs and Primark opened their third “Tasty by Greggs” café in Newcastle in March this year.

It comes after the first “Tasty by Greggs” opening in Birmingham last February, followed by the London flagship Oxford Street East site in October.

Greggs will open more sites later this year, with a café in Bristol to open in May, and ones in Liverpool and Leeds to follow in June.

Greggs has already announced plans to open 150 new standalone stores this year, as well as refurbishing another 150 and relocate 40 of its shops to larger sites.

On top of this, the bakery giant will trial a 24-hour drive thru service and a further 300 shops will see their opening hours extended to 9pm this year.

Greggs opened a record 186 new shops in 2022 and closed 39 sites, taking its total store number to 2,328.

Roisin Currie, the chief executive of Greggs, said in a statement earlier this year: "Although consumer incomes remain under pressure, Greggs continues to offer exceptional value to people looking for great tasting, high-quality food and drink on-the-go.

"We have an exciting, ambitious plan for the years ahead and, by continuing to nurture what makes Greggs special, I believe we are extremely well-placed to realise the opportunity to become a significantly larger, multi-channel business."
