Terrell Davis expects big things from Dalvin Cook in 2019

Vikings running back Dalvin Cook enters a pivotal 2019 season.

After being drafted in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Florida State, Cook came out firing as a rookie, but tore his ACL in Week 5. In 2018, he never looked fully healthy as he battled a hamstring injury, and a bad offensive line didn’t help.

Now Cook has a full offseason, an improved (hopefully) offensive line, and a run-heavy coach with Gary Kubiak on the staff.

Many around the NFL world think Cook is set for a breakout 2019 season, including Hall of Famer Terrell Davis.

Here’s what Davis wrote about Cook in a recent article on NFL.com:

With a healthy offseason under his belt and more than a year having passed since his knee injury, Cook will be a major player in the Vikings’ offense in 2019.

Davis predicts Cook will run for 1,150 yards and 12 rushing touchdowns. If Cook plays all 16 games, that’s about 72 yards per game, which is certainly doable for Cook.

This offense has so much talent led by Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs. But after 2019, we could be adding Cook to that list.
