Templeogue, Dublin residents disgusted after 'offensive graffiti attack' ruins housing estate

Residents in a South Dublin suburb were horrified over the weekend after they found "offensive graffiti" daubed across their entire estate.

The Glendown Residents in Templeogue immediately made a request to South Dublin County Council to remove the paint after it was discovered on Sunday.

The local residents' association said: "The estate has been subject to an offensive graffiti attack. As the graffiti is offensive, South Dublin County Council will remove it."

They continued: "We have been in touch with our local councillors to get this removed as soon as possible."

The controversy comes after Ireland’s first purpose-built callisthenics and functional workout area was installed and is opened to the public in Tymon Park.

Callisthenics is a form of physical training focused on teaching you to master your own bodyweight using minimal equipment.

The equipment, the first of its kind in Ireland, is specifically designed for competitive callisthenics training and is expected to become very popular with park users.

Meanwhile, a Wicklow village has gone 'Disney mad' as it transforms into a fantasy movie set for a new film.

The sequel to 2007 Disney film Enchanted, Disenchanted is being shot in Enniskerry in the coming months and the movie production crew has turned the small Wicklow village into a Disney scene straight out of Hollywood.

The village is continuing to be made fit for a princess, buildings are being covered in flowers, lights and some have even been given a fresh lick of pink paint.

Councillor for Bray West Melanie Corrigan said “the whole place has gone Disney mad!”

Wicklow has actually been the backdrop to plenty of Hollywood movies and big budget shows throughout the years with films such as Braveheart, My Left Foot and PS, I Love You all having scenes shot in the county.

Disenchanted will see the original actors from Enchanted, Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey, in picturesque Enniskerry for the production.

Adams even worked in the village before as she filmed Leap Year in 2009.
