Temple Newsam Road crash leaves two trapped in car after hits tree

Two people had to be taken to hospital after a car crashed into a tree in Leeds.

Emergency services were called to Temple Newsam Road, Halton, at 8.44pm on January 30.

Upon arrival, West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service found two people trapped inside the car which had crashed into a tree.

Firefighters cut the passengers out of the car and Yorkshire Ambulance Service rushed the duo to hospital.

A statement by West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "One car into tree, two casualties trapped, extrication carried out by fire service personnel and all transferred to hospital by ambulance.

Incident tape still marks the scene.

A short distance from the crash scene, police cordoned off parts of Temple Newsam Park.

Police were called after body was discovered on Sunday morning in an unrelated incident.
