On 5 May 2016 Sadiq Khan won the vote to become Mayor of London – beating Conservative candidate Zac Goldsmith into second place. Almost a year on, we’d like to know how you think he’s performed in the job so far.

Khan’s manifesto included promises to tackle the city’s burgeoning housing crisis, freeze transport fares, restore community policing, and be “the most pro-business Mayor yet”.

He also made pledges on improving London’s air quality and improve the environment for walking and cycling, including “more segregated cycle routes”.

Khan recently pulled the plug on the controversial Garden Bridge project for London, and reacted to the attack on Westminster in March by saying “Londoners will never be cowed by terrorism.”

He has also spoken out about the potential impacts of Brexit and the need to guarantee the rights of EU citizens, many of whom live in the capital.

We’d like your verdicts on Khan’s first year. Has he impressed you, or is there more work to do? What do you think he needs to prioritise on, and are you optimistic that the mayor’s term in office will be a successful one?
