This autumn will see the annual rough sleeping snapshot take place in England, which aims to calculate the amount of people sleeping unhoused on a single night.
Last year recorded the number of rough sleepers on a single autumn night at 3,069 people, rising for the first time after four years of decreases, although still below the 2017 peak.
The number of homeless people not sleeping rough is much higher. There were 278,110 households in England assessed as at risk of homelessness or already homeless in the year to March 2022, according to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.
We would like to hear from you. Have you experienced homelessness? What was the physical and emotional toll? What factors led to it, what was your experience like, and what (if applicable) helped to end your experience of being unhoused?
