HYDERABAD: TRS working president and minister KT Rama Rao has dared BJP Telangana president Bandi Sanjay to contest against minister Gangula Kamalakar, who represents Karimnagar assembly constituency, and win the next assembly election. He said though Sanjay represents Karimnagar in the Lok Sabha, he did not get any funds from the Centre and could not complete at least 3 crore worth works.
“The gentleman (Sanjay), who won as MP from Karimnagar three years ago, did not complete works worth 3 crore while the TRS government has completed about 1,000 works. When TRS leader B Vinod Kumar represented Karimnagar in the Lok Sabha, it got smart city status. He should tell the people what he (Sanjay) had done for Karimnagar in the past three years,” KTR said, while addressing a public meeting in the town on Thursday.
While vowing to convert Karimnagar as Laxmi Nagar, KTR listed out the works being taken up by the TRS government in Karimnagar. He said Manair riverfront development works would be completed soon. He said developmental works worth 1,067 crore were taken up and medical college would begin soon. KTR said the Union government failed to give projects such as power loom cluster to Sircilla and no national status for Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project. Bandi Sanjay did not ask for national status for Kaleshwaram in Parliament, he said.
