HYDERABAD: Consecration of deities at 108 ‘Divya Desams’ began at Muchintal ashram on Monday. This is a significant event at the ongoing Ramanuja Sahasrabdi Samaroh which began on February 2.

The 108 Divya Desams are constructed replicating the sanctum sanctorum, gopurams, kalashas and the main idol existing at the 108 temples across the country.

Thousands of devotees took part in a rally starting from yaga shala to divyasaketam carrying 33 idols.

On day-one, a total of 33 deities were consecrated. The remaining idols will be consecrated at divyasaketam in a phased manner. The first idol was consecrated at Srirangam temple at divyasaketam by Chinna Jeeyar.
