Telangana: A Revanth Reddy seeks CBI probe into ‘paddy scam’ in letter to G Kishan

HYDERABAD: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief A Revanth Reddy has demanded a CBI investigation into the state’s alleged paddy procurement scam in a letter to Union tourism minister G Kishan Reddy on Thursday.

The Malkajgiri MP claimed in his letter that important leaders of the ruling TRS party had joined forces with rice millers, alleging large-scale irregularities.

“TRS party leaders are to blame for this scam, which has cost hundreds of crores every year,” he said.

Reminding the Union minister of the recent field-level inspections conducted by FCI from March 2021 to March 2022, he stated shocking details about the scam were revealed during the inspection.

According to Revanth, FCI discovered 4,53,896 bags of paddy allotted by the state government under Custom Milling Rice were missing from the godowns. He demanded that the Union government file criminal charges against TRS leaders involved in the scam.
