Teenager stabbed multiple times during late night attack in Salford - police think he was attacked by another boy

Police are hunting a teenager who they believe knifed another boy during a late-night attack in Salford.

A 17-year-old boy was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after he was “attacked by another boy”, police say.

His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The victim was stabbed "a number of times" before his attacker fled from the scene, on Monton Road, in Eccles, in a grey Volkswagen Polo.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened between 11:30pm and midnight on Monday (August 19).

Detective Constable Darren Lowe, of Greater Manchester Police’s Salford District, called for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

“We are keen to speak to anyone who may have information about this incident, which can help us find those responsible,” he said.

“Thankfully the victim’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening, however that could easily have not been the case.

“We believe that there may have been a number of witnesses to the attack and I want to urge those people who saw something to please contact police.”

Anybody with information should contact police on 0161 856 2079, quoting incident number 11 of 20/08/19, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
