Teenager second to be charged with Andre Gayle murder in Bristol

A teenager has appeared in court charged with the murder of Andre Gayle, who died after suffering stab wounds a month ago.

The 17-year-old is the second person to be charged with murder following the incident in Easton in Bristol in the early hours of Monday, August 31.

The teenager, who cannot be named because of his age, was charged by police today (Thursday, October 10) and appeared before magistrates in Bristol this afternoon. His case was adjourned until tomorrow.

Andre Gayle, 29, died in hospital two days after suffering stab wounds during an incident in Easton on August 31.

A total of 14 people, aged between 16 and 40, have since been arrested, and two now have been charged.

As well as the unnamed 17-year-old, a 24-year-old from London, Jerome Lewis, has also been charged with Mr Gayle's murder.

He appeared before magistrates on Tuesday, September 29, and was remanded in custody with his case sent to the Crown Court.
