A teenager was robbed by a man armed with a knife in South Belfast on Monday.
The man made off with cash after the incident in Cadogan Street before 5pm.
The suspect left towards Agincourt Avenue, and police described it as a "terrifying ordeal".
PSNI Detective Sergeant Will Arnott said: “We received a report shortly before 5pm that a teenage male was walking in the Cadogan Street area when an unknown man approached him holding a small knife. The man made off with a sum of money in the direction of Agincourt Avenue.
"He is described to being approximately 5'8" tall and of a slim build wearing a hoodie and dark coloured tracksuit bottoms.
"While the male was physically uninjured, this was without doubt a terrifying ordeal for him and we are appealing to anyone with information to get in touch.
"If you were in the area and witnessed this incident, contact us on 101 quoting reference number 1579 of 07/10/19.
"Alternatively, information can be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
