A 15-year-old girl has been rescued after falling down a harbourside rock crevice at Vaucluse in Sydney’s east.

The girl fell approximately 10m from a rock ledge at a park on Vaucluse Road at about 1.30pm, New South Wales police told Guardian Australia.

Police and emergency services were on the scene on Sunday afternoon and ambulance paramedics are treating the girl.

She was treated for leg injuries at the scene and taken to Randwick Children’s Hospital in a serious condition.

Images of the rescue taken by local media show a surf rescue boat on the scene, and rescuers floating her out to it on a stretcher.
