Teenager found with serious injuries 'after assault' near Nottingham Castle

A 19-year-old man suffered serious facial injuries in an alleged assault near Nottingham Castle.

Nottinghamshire Police says he was found unconscious in a street near the castle grounds in the early hours of Monday, November 1.

He suffered a broken jaw and eye-socket as well as a broken wrist.

Officers would urgently like to speak to two men and a woman who came to the aid of the victim and helped him to return home.

The victim has no memory of the attack but believes it to have taken place between 3am and 4am.

Detective Constable Paul Crofts said: “This young man has sustained some very serious injuries and we are urgently working to understand what happened to him.

“We believe he was the victim of an assault and are determined to track down the person or people responsible.

“We know the victim was found lying in the street by a woman and was later helped home by her and two other men. We urgently need to speak to these three good Samaritans and ask that they contact us immediately.

“Extensive local enquires are ongoing – including CCTV analysis – and we would also like to speak to anyone else who may have witnesses and altercation in this area.

“No amount of information is too small, as it could be the vital piece of evidence we need to get justice in this case.”

Anyone with any information about this case is asked to call 101 quoting incident 324 of 1 November 2021.
