Teenager charged in connection with attack in Glasgow's east end which left man requiring hospital treatment

A teenager has been charged in connection with an attack which took place in the east end of Glasgow early yesterday morning.

Police and paramedics raced to Edinburgh Road in the Carntyne area after receiving reports of man having been injured by two men in a flat at around 3:40am.

The 41-year-old victim was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment, with his present condition unknown.

Police confirmed that a 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "The victim is aged 41. We cannot comment on his condition.

"A 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

"He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, August 10."
