Teen rushed to hospital after Glasgow city centre assault on Argyle Street

A 15-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after he was seriously assaulted in Glasgow's city centre last night.

The serious assault occurred on Argyle Street, near to St Enoch Square, at around 9pm.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and the teen was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children following the incident.

Staff say the youth is in a stable condition. Enquiries into the attack are still ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9pm on Thursday, 26 January, police were called to a report of a 15-year-old boy injured after being seriously assaulted on Argyle Street, near to St Enoch Square.

“Officers attended and the injured boy was taken by Ambulance to the Royal Hospital for Children. Hospital staff describe his condition as stable.

“Enquiries are ongoing into this incident and officers are carrying out enquiries in and around Argyle Street to establish more information on this incident. Anyone with information should contact 3592 of 26 January.”
