Teen charged in connection with serious assault at Scots bus station

A 16-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection with an serious assault at a Scots bus station.

The incident occurred at Kilmarnock Bus Station on Green Street, Kilmarnock around 10.20pm on Saturday October 9.

Police Scotland shut down the bus station that night following the attack.

The teenager has been released on an undertaking to appear at court at a later date, according to Police Scotland.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing, police the force added.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 16-year-old male youth has been arrested and charged following an incident at Kilmarnock Bus Station, Green Street, Kilmarnock, on Saturday, 9 October, 2021.

"He has been released on an undertaking to appear at court at a later date. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal. Enquiries in to the incident are continuing."
