Teddy Bishop to Hearts transfer latest as Robbie Neilson's side continue pre-season winning run

Hearts are not trying to sign Ipswich Town midfielder Teddy Bishop.

The 24-year-old has been told he can leave the Tractor Boys this summer if he can find a new club, despite triggering an automatic contract extension last season.

Robbie Neilson was credited with an interest in the player along with Portsmouth and Lincoln City, along with Neilson’s former club MK Dons.

But Edinburgh Live Sport understands that the Premiership new boys are not interested and are focusing their transfer attention elsewhere.

Ross Stewart, Josh Ginnelly and Alex Cochrane are the three signings to arrive at Tynecastle so far this summer, although more are expected.

The Jambos are keen to sign a centre back, a creative midfielder and a striker.

But the midfield vacancy won’t be filled by Bishop.

A move for Derry City captain Eoin Toal has been reported but there has been nothing concrete done on that front.

Meanwhile Hearts continued their pre-season preparations with a 3-0 friendly win over Bonnyrigg Rose last night.

A Connor Smith goal and Armand Gnanduillet ’s double saw off the Lowland League outfit at New Dundas Park.

The Gorgie boys resume competitive action for the first time since April this weekend as they travel to Peterhead for their Premier Sports Cup group stage opener at Balmoor.
