‘Tecmo Super Bowl 2020’ simulation goes horribly wrong for Browns

“Tecmo Super Bowl 2020,” just released by the fine folks at Tecmbowl.org,  is a lovely free alternative to the other football game people buy. Personally, I’ll stick with “Tecmo” for the rest of my days due to its incredible ability to stand the test of time and the fact that it’s not a $60-a-year subscription service.

With the release, we thought it’d be a fun idea to do a season simulation to see how our Cleveland Browns would do. It was a horrible mistake.

Cleveland not only failed to make the playoffs, but they didn’t even salvage a winning record, going 6-10. They were tied for second in the division with the Steelers. The Ravens took the division, which is something only those biased in favor of Baltimore would call.

Baltimore would make their way to the Super Bowl as well, but they would lose 28-14 to the Dallas Cowboys.

This is what the kids might call #TheWorstTimeline, but I’d just call it a simulation. They’re fun and I could’ve run it again for a different or more favorable result, but that’d be dishonest. One thing we can all take solace in, though, is the fact that hell would freeze over if the Cowboys and the Ravens met in this year’s Super Bowl … though stranger things have happened.
