Technological University Dublin forced to reschedule Business exam following grind controversy

A final year Technological University Dublin Business exam has had to be rescheduled following a complaint over a controversial grind given to some students.

The exam, sat on Wednesday March 27, was nulled and scheduled for another date after a group of students were allegedly given the exact case study from the exam in a grind off an ex-lecturer.

It is claimed another group of students in the class complained to the college about the situation and the exam was voided.

A student in the class told Dublin Live: "Some people in our class get grinds off a lecturer we had last year, and one of the cases she gave throughout the year to practice actually came up on the exam.

"It was an open book exam so if they had the solutions already all they had to do was copy it out onto the book.

"It easily could have been avoided. It's an open book exam and so literally they would have had to just copy it in.

"I can imagine that if someone felt they did bad they were pretty annoyed by the fact that other people got away with a simple exam.

"This really should have been avoided. They should have made sure every one went in with the same chance."

Speaking to Dublin Live, a spokeswoman for TU Dublin confirmed the exam was rescheduled.

They said: "We can verify that a final-year Business exam was rescheduled, but at this point, we cannot confirm any further details."
