Tech for good company tops £300,000 crowdfunding target

Edinburgh-based fintech business Sustainably has topped its £300,000 crowdfunding target with four days left to go in its fundraising campaign.

The tech for good business founded and run by mother and daughter team Loral and Eishel Quinn has hit had raised just under £304,000.

The business, named by Sir Richard Branson as his startup of 2019, allows people to donate their spare change automatically every time they shop.

Donors can give on their own terms, privately and anonymously and with complete control over their donations so they never receive unwanted direct mail, phone calls or texts.

The new funds will go towards new users and charities for the company's app, along with improving its functionality and working on a new business-orientated platform.

Sustainably plans to launch into international markets in 2023. Investors now will receive shares to be issued at a future date.

The company has been backed to date by more than 250 investors.

Loral Quinn was featured as one of Scottish Business Insider's Twenty Women To Watch in 2018.

Sustainably has also received awards from Nesta, Tech Nation and Finovate.
