Tears for Fears cancel Cardiff Castle concert

Iconic 80s band Tears for Fears have cancelled an upcoming concert in Cardiff. They were meant to perform at Cardiff Castle next Saturday.

The decision has been taken after member Curt Smith injured his ribs, with the band - made up of Smith and Roland Orzabal - still due to appear in New Milton, Canterbury, Hove, Hatfield, Exeter and London as well as Cardiff. To get the latest What's On newsletters from WalesOnline, click here.

However, all those shows have now been cancelled. The band confirmed in a statement: “Following further examination of Curt’s rib fracture, doctors have advised that his injury requires strict rest to recover. As such, it is with a heavy heart that we share we must cancel the remaining shows of The Tipping Point UK Tour.”

The duo added: “We’ve absolutely loved seeing everyone and performing for you. We are so disappointed not to be able to play the shows which we have been looking forward to for so long and can’t wait to be performing for you again. Please contact your point of purchase for a full ticket refund.”

Tears For Fears were one of the most iconic bands of the ‘80s, selling over 30 million albums worldwide with singles such as Shout, Everybody Wants To Rule The World, Mad World, Sowing The Seeds Of Love, and Woman In Chains. Their new album Tipping Point is their first release since their reunion album Everybody Loves A Happy Ending in 2004.
