Taylor Swift is radiant in red as she casts aside Oscars snub at Cats premiere

If she was unhappy at not being put up for an early next year, then she didn't show it.

Taylor Swift shone as she hit the red carpet in New York, hours after her name was missing from the Academy awards shortlist.

Fans were hoping to see the megastar up for her first ever Oscar but her Cats soundtrack Beautiful Ghosts is not included.

The 30-year-old turned up at the Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall looking effortlessly perfect and like the snub hadn't happened at all.

She plays singing cat Bombalurina in the stage classic, arguably her biggest film role yet.

Ironically, she was wearing an Oscar de la Renta Pre-Spring 2020 with her arms on full display.

Taylor wasn't the only star on show at the premiere.

Of course Broadway legend Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tom Hooper, Cat's Oscar-winning director, were suited and booted on their big night.

Brit James Corden, the Late Late Show host, wouldn't miss it as Idris Elba went relaxed without a tie.

Jennifer Hudson stunned as she made her entrance while Francesca Hayward, who plays Victoria, wore a stylish white mesh dress.

Rebel Wilson looked like she meant business in a powerful black number, as Sara Sampaio couldn't go unnoticed in her statement white suit.

Queer Eye's Jonathan Van Ness, Jason Derulo and Booksmart star Beanie Feldstein smiled for the camera as they made their way into the theatre.

Cats is described as a musical fantasy comedy-drama and is based on the 1939 poetry collection Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by T. S. Eliot.

It has a budget of nearly $95 million and also stars Sir Ian McKellen.
