Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo squash feud rumors at Grammys

TAYLOR SWIFT | THE ERAS TOUR-FanArt

At the Grammys 2024 on Sunday night, Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo put rumors of a feud to rest and showed that there is no bad blood between them. Cameras captured Swift happily dancing along as Rodrigo performed her hit song 'Vampire' in front of the live audience at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Swift, known for her iconic songs like 'Cruel Summer,' was one of the few people standing up and grooving to Rodrigo's performance. She even mouthed the lyrics, clearly showing her support for the young singer. Sporting a white Haute Couture gown from Schiaparelli, Swift looked radiant as she enjoyed the show.

Meanwhile, Rodrigo effortlessly sang her Grammy-nominated single while dressed in a stunning red dress, with matching blood-red lips and blood dripping down her arms. It was a captivating performance that showcased her talent and stage presence.

As the performance came to an end, Swift enthusiastically applauded, raising her glove-covered arms high. Rodrigo, in return, cheered for Swift when she won her 13th Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album and revealed that she has a new album in the works.

Leading up to music's biggest night, rumors of a feud between Swift and Rodrigo had been circulating. There were even speculations about avoiding awkward seating arrangements. However, the Grammy night proved those rumors wrong, as the two talented artists showed nothing but support for each other.

One major catalyst for the rumored tension was the songwriting credits issue. Rodrigo had to give Swift and her collaborator Jack Antonoff credits for two songs on her album 'Sour' - 'Step Forward, 3 Steps Back' and 'Deja Vu.' These songs were found to bear a resemblance to Swift's 'New Year's Day' and 'Cruel Summer,' respectively.

In a previous interview with Rolling Stone, Rodrigo addressed the tension by stating, 'I don't have beef with anyone. I'm very chill. I keep to myself.' She further emphasized that her circle is small, consisting of her four friends and her mom, and that she prefers not to engage in unnecessary drama.

It is refreshing to see both Swift and Rodrigo rise above any speculated feud and support each other's success. It reminds us that in the music industry, camaraderie and unity can prevail over unnecessary rivalries or misunderstandings.

As fans, we can now look forward to more incredible music from both Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo, knowing that their friendship and respect for each other remains intact.
