Taste of London 2022: Hoppers, James Cochran and Dumplings Legend to appear as tickets go on sale

Fun in the sun: Taste is always something of a favourite with the capital’s food lovers

Taste of London, the food festival promising to deliver its name, is returning to Regent’s Park this summer as it celebrates its 18th birthday.

Running from June 15—19, this year’s line-up includes returning favourites Hoppers, a Sri Lankan spot, Chinatown stalwart Dumplings Legend, and Francesco Mazzei’s Savile Row hit, Sartoria. The five days offer ticketholders a chance to tuck into signature dishes and small plates from restaurants across the capital.

Newcomers include James Cochran’s fried chicken concept, Around the Cluck, Marylebone’s popular yakitori Junsei, and Technique by Louis Ashok. Ashok opened Technique in Notting Hill just a month or so ago, and serves, in his words, “high-end, progressive African cuisine.”

Other names on the line-up include Flesh and Buns, Vivek Singh’s fine-dining Cinnamon Club, and a stall from Big Mamma Group, who run Gloria, Circolo Popolare and Covent Garden’s Ave Mario. There will also be the return of the Taste fire pit, which sees chefs cooking over fire — this years hosts include Instagram hit Christian Stevenson, better known as DJ BBQ, and Simon the Butcher.

Elsewhere will be food and drink classes, cooking demonstrations and the Cook School, which this year will focus particularly on food waste. Among the stranger offerings is Taste Tee, which combines food and drink with a round of crazy golf.

None of this comes cheap, however: entry passes start at £24, with a “tasting ticket” — which includes tokens for food — at £38. Otherwise, food and drink must be bought at the stands.
