TalkTV viewers question Jeremy Kyle's TV return after three years alongside Sharon Osbourne

Jeremy Kyle made his return to TV screens on Monday night (April 25) - three years after his ITV show was axed. Conflict resolution programme The Jeremy Kyle Show was suddenly dropped by the broadcaster in May 2019.

The then-popular show, hosted by Jeremy and filmed at Salford's MediaCity, was suddenly pulled off air after 14 years and suspended indefinitely following the death of one of its guests Steve Dymond, a 63-year-old construction worker who had filmed for the programme.

While Jeremy has been hosting a drivetime slot on talkRADIO, the 56-year-old hadn't appeared on-screen until Monday evening when he joined the panel of Sharon Osbourne's new show on the newly launched TalkTV.

Former X Factor judge Sharon, 69, made her return to TV screens as part of a new hour-long panel debate show The Talk, where five famous faces - including Jeremy - with different backgrounds and views debate current affairs issues. The show is part of the global launch schedule for TalkTV, the new venture from News UK, the publisher of The Times and The Sun, and followed the first of Piers Morgan's show, Uncensored, which featured an explosive interview with Donald Trump.

As well as Jeremy, Sharon was joined by Esther Krakue, Tonia Buxton and JJ Anisiobi on the panel and launched the show by saying by saying it is "great to be back on screens and even greater to be employed" after she left US chat show The Talk, which aired on CBS, following an on-air row with her co-host Sheryl Underwood.

They debated current news topics from Prince Andrew to the dispute around misogyny directed towards Labour’s Angela Rayner. While the debate show appeared to run relatively smoothly, it did experience some minor technical issues with the audio.

But it was Jeremy's return to screens that had mixed reviews from viewers.

@fannd47 complained: "What on earth have you got that Jeremy Kyle back on TV for, won't watch it when he's on."

"Was really enjoying @TalkTV until Jeremy Kyle turned up!" @ginny2980 said..

But @Ozzyhell wrote: "@MrsSOsbourne and Jeremy Kyle have great chemistry together on the panel! @TheTalkUK Great show guys! Well done!"

@SeanTheTrekkie commented: "Well I for one enjoy @TheTalkUK launch tonight first with @piersmorgan on @PiersUncensored great to see him back love or hate him he is good to watch then to @TheTalkUK with the fabulous @MrsSOsbourne and #jeremykyle amazing 2 hours let’s do it again tomorrow #TalkTV."

Viewers were left asking if it was Sharon's show (TalkTV)

@jcombe2 shared: "#TalkTV good to see #Jeremykyle back on the TV missed him .also good to see #Sharonosbourne on tv.#Thetalk."

However, viewers were also asking whose show it was meant to be as Jeremy appeared to dominate.

@whatsonthetapes tweeted: "I am watching a bit of talkTV - yeah, I know, sue me, I'm curious - and I'm confused: who's actually hosting this show? Sharon Osbourne is billed as the 'name', but Jeremy Kyle presented the first bit, the panellist whose name I didn't catch is leading the second..."

"@TalkTV please clarify, is this Sharon Osbornes show or Jeremy Kyle's?" @Nofilte42479529 asked.

@theversion commented: "Thought this was Sharon Osborne's show but it's very much Jeremy Kyle's. #talktv."
