Talks have stalled between Irish clubs and FAI over proposed new league structures

Talks have stalled between the Premier Clubs Alliance and the FAI over the proposed new structures of the league.

Progress had been made in the background to establish a new company to run the league from 2020 as a partnership between the clubs and the FAI.

But a number of sources have confirmed there is a standoff on both sides over funding aspects of the deal.

Shamrock Rovers insist they are not looking to cash in on Jack Byrne

There is also a mutual desire to see what meat is on the bones of the Niall Quinn-led consortium’s plans to revamp the domestic game.

Meanwhile, discussions have taken place to see if clubs could profit from pay-per-view screening of all their respective matches.
