Today’s Talking Point

Do you have plans to celebrate the first weekend out of lockdown?

The Standard today reported that nearly every single outdoor table in the capital has been booked up for this weekend.

As Londoners emerge from a long locked-down winter, the West End is anticipating a £300 million spending spree in bars, shops, and restaurants.

But do you have any big plans to celebrate your first weekend out of lockdown? Let us know what you’re up to in the comments below for your chance to be featured on Monday.

Yesterday’s Talking Point: Are you in favour of vaccine passports if it means you can go to events?

Yesterday we asked for your opinions about vaccine passports.

It seems that the verdict is split. Some of you were against the passports - Adam S. Cohen said that he didn’t want to have to “disclose [his] personal medical records to attend any event,” while Melanie Dyson Vieira thought that “testing before the event would be best.”

Others were more in favour. Two of the most popular comments were from Michelle Dibble - who said “yes, definitely” - and Chris McAlees, who said: “For me it’s pretty simple, if I want to get in a car I have to wear a seatbelt for my safety and that of others, I don’t understand the objections to the vaccine passport.”
