I had a phone call last night from someone representing Golden Gambles. He told me they had sent me a letter a week ago. I couldn't remember getting it but that's not surprising as I throw tipsters' letters out straight away.
The chap from Golden Gambles, who had a strong northern accent, said: "Tony, you have a bet for yourself on Dubai Miracle in the 2.00 at Lingfield tomorrow." I didn't have the heart to tell him I had plumped for Wriggle myself. No doubt he will be back on if Dubai Miracle wins.
Today's suggestion is at Catterick where I am hoping there will be more rain as the softer the ground the better for First Swallow (4.20). The drop back to six furlongs looks perfect for the in-form Richard Fahey runner who caught the eye when a strong-finishing third to Feelin Foxy at Doncaster last time out.
Tipping competition - day three
This week's prize is a £50 bet on Saturday's King George courtesy of Totesport. Surely the chance of a win like that makes a little form study worthwhile?
Johne5knuckle has a narrow lead after yesterday's action but there is very little in it and a big-priced winner could change all that today.
Today's races are: Lingfield 3.00; Catterick 3.20 and Lingfield 3.30.
