Take a tour of Angry Birds Adventure Golf course as it opens at the Metrocentre

It's is the first one of its kind in the whole world and the indoor Angry Birds Adventure Golf course is now open at intu Metrocentre.

Chronicle Live first announced plans for the new visitor attraction to a huge reaction from readers back in April and now you can be among the first people to have a go as the course opened on Monday, October 14.

The 18,000 sq ft site stretches across the upper and lower mall levels at the Gateshead shopping centre and is reached through the dining quarter in the Qube zone.

You enter the course at at Upper Mall level, which houses reception and the first two holes, where golfers tee off into either Bird Island or Pig City.

Then prepare to be be sling shot downstairs to play the remaining 17 holes, with the video and gallery above giving you a sneak peek at what to expect.

There's also the opportunity to satisfy your appetite or quench your thirst on either level, with options including as Costa Coffee and Angry Bird inspired food.

This is first Angry Birds Adventure Golf experience of its kind in the world, coming 10 years after the Angry Birds app first burst into the gaming scene, pitting a cast of battling birds led by Red against their enemies, the pigs.

And now players can to take them on through Adventure Golf form at the Metrocentre .  Ticket prices start at £8.95 per person for 18 holes of golf, with special deals and discounts available for families and groups. Check out our full guide to Players can choose a round of 18 or 36 holes.
