The strongest earthquake to hit Taiwan in a quarter of a century has killed at least seven people and injured over 700.
Taiwan's earthquake monitoring agency said the quake was magnitude 7.2 on the Richter scale, while the US Geological Survey put it at 7.4, and Japan's meteorological agency put it at 7.7.
The US agency said the epicentre was located about 11 miles south of Taiwan's Hualien city and was about 22 miles deep. The quake struck during morning rush hour at 7.58am local time.
A study suggests that vapers are nearly 20% more likely to develop heart failure.
Scientists from the American College of Cardiology analysed more than 175,000 US adults with an average age of 52 for around four years.
The team found that people who used e-cigarettes at any point were 19% more likely to develop heart failure than those who had never vaped.
The results showed that vapers were statistically more likely to develop a condition known as ‘preserved ejection fraction’ heart failure, in which the heart muscle becomes too stiff to function properly.
