Tadhg Furlong pens new three-year IRFU contract until 2025

Ireland ace Tadhg Furlong has put pen to paper on a new three-year contract with the IRFU.

Furlong has been one of Ireland's top performers over the past few years and has been rewarded with another bumper contract.

The Wexford man impressed in the recent Autumn series as Ireland had a clean sweep over Japan, New Zealand and Argentina and it was against Japan that he earned his 50th cap.

Furlong was also a starter for the British and Irish Lions in their recent tour of South Africa.

The forward has played for Leinster 116 times and made his Ireland debut six years ago.

And IRFU performance director David Nucifora said of Furlong's contract renewal: "Tadhg has again illustrated his pedigree as one of the best tightheads in world rugby.

"His performances for Ireland and the British and Irish Lions in the past year have been top drawer and we are delighted that he has extended his contract to the end of the 2024/25 season."
