Bollywood star Tabu announced her arrival in Hollywood in a dazzling black gown at the world premiere of 'Dune Prophecy', HBO's much-anticipated original series, in New York City.
The actress captivated fans and photographers alike, gracing the red carpet in an exquisite black gown designed by the renowned Indian designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. The gown was a unique take on the traditional Angarkha outfit and showcased revival of their iconic 'Crushed Silk' collection, according to a note shared by the designers on their social media page.
Tabu’s gown, a custom creation, highlighted her timeless style, while her minimalistic accessories and smokey eye makeup completed her red carpet look. While on the red carpet, the actress spoke to AP and shared why she thought her new series is relevant in today's world.
"We will always find parallels in today's world," Tabu began and explained, "because we see women growing with more and more power now."
The actress, who plays the role of Sister Francesca in the HBO series, added, "More than the gender of power, I must say that the balance of power is the most important part of the Dune universe and that is something that the world will identify with at any given point in time. History has shown us that it is all about power - the use and abuse of power."
For 'Dune Prophecy', the actress joins a star-studded cast in the spin-off series based on the 'Dune' franchise, set 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides. It follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit. Tabu is expected to bring her trademark intensity and depth to her role, which is said to add a unique element to the series.
Tabu took to social media following the premiere, sharing snapshots of her stunning gown for the evening and captioned it as, "The best of the best @abujanisandeepkhosla for the premiere of @duneprophecy

In addition to Tabu, the ensemble cast of Dune: Prophecy includes Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Johdi May, Mark Strong, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Josh Heuston, Chloe Lea, Jade Anouka, Faoileann Cunningham, Edward Davis, Aoife Hinds, Chris Mason and Shalom Brune-Franklin.
The highly anticipated 'Dune Prophecy' is slated to premiere on HBO next month, November 17. The series will comprise of six episodes which will air on Sunday.
