Sydney enjoys spectacular sunset as southerly change blows away the heat

While some Sydneysiders enjoyed the stars emerge at the hotly anticipated Aria music awards or the A-League football game at Allianz Stadium, a surprise show was starting that absolutely everyone could appreciate.

After a day squirming uncomfortably through 38-degree heat and humidity (though it was clearly not enough to fry an egg), city dwellers were given a double treat: an 18-degree drop and a blaze of glory at dusk that was beautifully captured on social media.
