An exhibition featuring Japanese swords from historic temples and shrines started Wednesday at the Suntory Museum of Art in Minato Ward, Tokyo.

"The Sword: The Soul of the Warrior" exhibition, which is organized by The Yomiuri Shimbun and others, runs through Oct. 31.

Exhibits include the Hizamaru and Honebami Toshiro long swords from Daikakuji temple and Toyokuni Shrine in Kyoto. Sword accessories, armor, picture scrolls and other artifacts also feature in the exhibition.

Some of the exhibits will be changed during the course of the show.

The museum shop will also be selling items produced in collaboration with the makers of the popular sword-themed game, "Touken Ranbu -ONLINE-."
