Swansea City submit bid for highly-rated Wigan Athletic winger Jamal Lowe

Swansea City have submitted a bid for Wigan Athletic winger Jamal Lowe.

The Swans have already added central midfielder Korey Smith and goalkeeper Freddie Woodman to their ranks ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.

They are now keen to bolster their wide options by signing Wigan star Lowe.

The 26-year-old has attracted plenty of interest following the Latics' relegation from the Championship.

Lowe netted six goals in 46 Championship outings for Paul Cook's men last term and is widely expected to depart the DW Stadium this summer due to Wigan's relegation.

The wideman still has two years left to run on his current contract with the north-west of England outfit.

It comes after experienced winger Wayne Routledge signed a one-year contract extension with Swansea.

Jefferson Montero was released by the club after a six-year stint with the Swans while Nathan Dyer has recently seen his contract expire.

Lowe started his career with Barnet before joining St Albans City in 2015 following loan spells with Hayes & Yeading United, Boreham Wood, Hitchin Town, St Albans City, Farnborough and Hemel Hempstead Town.

He went on to have a permanent stint Hemel Hempstead Town before joining Hampton & Richmond Borough in 2015.

Lowe had two years with Portsmouth before joining Wigan in 2019.
