A reasonably quiet day at the office until Blackpool's leveller. Punch in the build-up was poor.
Ethan Laird 6
Made some terrific runs throughout. Probably unlucky not to have had a penalty, but final ball was lacking a little at times and he was guilty of losing possession on a couple of occasions.
Kyle Naughton 6
Looked solid for much of the first half, but was one of those who perhaps lost their composure late on as Blackpool threatened.
Ben Cabango 6
As above really. Didn't do an awful lot wrong for much of the game on his return to the starting line up. Made a decent block to deny Connolly.
Ryan Manning 7
Deserves a reasonable mark for his header off the line late on. Also made more tackles than any other player. A reasonable outing.
Jake Bidwell 6
Like Laird, made some really good runs down the flank, but couldn't quite fully stamp his authority on the game.
Matt Grimes (c) 7
Showed some wonderful touches in the middle of the park, and was involved in the build-up to Piroe's goal. Influence admittedly waned as a the contest wore on, but still a fairly decent showing.
Flynn Downes 6
Did a reasonable job in supporting Grimes for much of the game, but was quiet on the whole.
Olivier Ntcham 7
Held the ball up brilliantly throughout. Bagged an assist for the goal too. Little to really take issue with here. Subbed.
Jamie Paterson 7
Was often at the heart of his side's attacking efforts, but could not quite muster up the killer piece of magic needed.
Joel Piroe 8 STAR MAN
Was a thorn in the side of Blackpool all afternoon. His goal is well worth a watch if you get a chance. Subbed.
