Swansea City confirm signing of Basel attacker Aldo Kalulu

Swansea City have confirmed the signing of Basel forward Aldo Kalulu.

The 23-year-old has signed on a season-long loan deal.

He becomes Steve Cooper's fifth signing of the summer after Jake Bidwell, Ben Wilmot, Freddie Woodman and Kristoffer Peterson penned terms in SA1.

Cooper has moved fast to replace last season's top scorer Oli McBurnie, who has joined Premier Leagute outfit Sheffield United in a £20million deal.

He began his career with Lyon, before joining Rennes then Sochaux on loan.

While with the second tier club his form attracted the interest of Swiss side Basle, helping them to a second-place finish last term.

Kalulu's arrival could kick off a busy week for the club, with Cooper hopeful of getting another signing over the line by the end of the transfer window on Thursday - ideally a specialist striker.

Swansea have confirmed they are interested in Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah, who is set to leave the Emirates on loan in order to secure game-time.

Bristol City are also in the mix, as well as teams on the continent.
