Sydney Swans midfielder Taylor Adams has been released from hospital after being knocked unconscious in a Saturday night incident.

The 32-year-old Adams was allegedly assaulted following an argument with two men at a venue in Sydney's eastern suburbs, NSW police say.

Police were called to a licensed venue on Vickery Avenue in harbourside suburb Rose Bay just after 10pm following the incident.

Adams had lost consciousness briefly and sustained a small cut to his cheek after allegedly being knocked to the ground by one man.

He was attended to by NSW paramedics and taken to St Vincents Hospital for further treatment.

A short statement from the Swans confirmed Adams was discharged from the hospital at 7am on Sunday and will be monitored daily.

Both men had left the scene before police arrived.

Police were told the men were not known to Adams.

The AFL club said they were working with Adams and police to identify the offender, adding that the incident occurred across the road from the licensed venue.

Veteran midfielder Adams has spent his pre-season training in rehabilitation after suffering a partial tear of his achilles tendon in December.

In his second season at the Swans, the one-time All-Australian was limited to just four appearances last campaign following recurring hamstring injuries.

Adams had made the move from Collingwood at the end of 2023, missing out on a spot in the 2024 grand final against Brisbane under then-coach John Longmire.
