A man was today named as being allegedly involved in the selling and transferring of guns.
It follows police swooping at dawn at a home on Beaumont Street in Toxteth yesterday morning in connection with a long-running investigation into firearms supply.
It is the seventh arrest in this particular probe and is part of the national Operation Venetic, the law enforcement blitz which led to the global collapse of the Encrochat communication network.
Detectives have now charged Shaun Kent, 35, of Beaumont Street, Toxteth, with conspiracy to sell/transfer prohibited weapons and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
He was remanded into custody and appeared at Wirral Magistrates Court this morning.
This particular probe, led by the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit (NWROCU), spans Liverpool, Manchester and Yorkshire.
Yesterday's activity in Toxteth was related to the arrest of two men at Manchester Airport in mid-January following a search of an address in that city.
More arrests were made in Manchester for gun offices, supplying drugs, money laundering and blackmail and one woman was detained in Bradford, West Yorkshire.
