A suspect has been charged with producing a “large” amount of cannabis after police discovered the Class B drug growing in Runcorn.
Cheshire Constabulary said officers raided a business premises in the Halton Lea area at around noon on Thursday, November 25.
In an initial statement a force spokesman said a “quantity of cannabis plants” were found within the property.
Police have now confirmed 1,022 plants were found at a business premises on Second Avenue.
The address is on the same road as Runcorn Police Station.

Ilidion Brahaj, 20, of no fixed abode, has been charged with production of the Class B drug cannabis.
Court papers described the amount of cannabis growing as “large” and said the charge related to a period of time spanning nearly three months from September 1 to November 26.
No further details of the number of plants or location have been released.
Halton Lea is an electoral ward in Halton borough, covering Runcorn new town’s central shopping spanning a large shopping centre plus supermarkets and retail park, and the housing estates of Palacefields, Halton Lodge and Hallwood Park.
The spokesman said: “At around 12pm on Thursday, November 25, officers from Cheshire Police executed a drugs warrant at a business premises in Halton Lea, Runcorn.
“A quantity of cannabis plants were discovered within the property and a 20-year-old man was arrested.
“Ilidion Brahaj, of no fixed abode, was subsequently charged with production of Class B drugs (cannabis).

“Brahaj appeared at South Cheshire Magistrates’ Court on Friday, November 26, where he was remanded in custody.
“He is next set to appear at North Cheshire Magistrates’ on Monday, November 29.”
