'Suspect device' left outside Sinn Fein office condemned

A 'suspect device' left outside a Sinn Fein constituency office on Monday morning has been condemned.

The party said the device was left outside an office in West Belfast at Sevastopol Street during the early hours of August 10.

The PSNI attended the scene and a section of the Falls Road had to be closed off.

The incident comes after a hoax device was found outside a Sinn Fein premises on Andersonstown Road last month.

Sinn Fein MP, Paul Maskey said: “For decades this office has provided an invaluable service to the community of West Belfast.

“In particular, the office been at the heart of work in recent months to support the local community throughout the Covid-19 pandemic."

“This attack follows on from another incident at Connolly House constituency office two weeks ago," Maskey added.

“Those responsible for these futile attacks have no support in our community.

“Sinn Féin will not be deterred. We will continue to work to deliver for constituents and to build a just, equal and united Ireland.”
