Good Morning Britain 's Susanna Reid teased Ben Shephard on Wednesday's show, as Tipping Point host Ben is standing in for Piers Morgan, who quit last week.
Ben and Susanna were discussing the news that Gayle King, a friend of the Duchess of Sussex, revealed to CBS breakfast show The Morning that talks between Prince Harry and Prince Charles have been "unproductive".
While Harry and Meghan Markle are "glad" conversations have begun, they have not got off to the best start, Gayle said.
Royal sources told the Mirror the revelations “would cause alarm” among senior royals, that private conversations were being used against them, while adding: “This type of behaviour could have huge implications for trust between the camps moving forward."
Ben's rather flowery language on the topic led to Susanna mocking him and telling him he sounded like a "Californian therapist".
Ben said: "The difficulty is the family have said they want to discuss it in private, and then she is discussing it on a huge platform, she is sharing very private information, family secrets.

"I feels like this is the kind of thing that isn’t going to be sorted out with one phone call, if there has been such a hugely seismic moment within a family, personal things have been thrown into the spotlight, it’s not going to be sorted out quickly.
'It's going to take a while for everybody to be able to share their truth and be able to be honest with each other and hopefully start healing, because that's what we all want.'
Susanna replied: "You sound like a Californian therapist, Ben."
Ranvir Singh joked: "You need a bit of tan, Ben... get your teeth whitened."

Susanna also said: "I think we can see that one part of the family wants to keep it private and one part of the family doesn't.
"There is this dispute about whether Meghan and Harry left the UK to go to the states because they wanted more of a private life.
"Now I have always said they weren't insisting on absolute cast-iron privacy where they didn't have any of their life out in the media, because they have got the Netflix and Spotify deals, they want to earn money and be successful so they do want to share a certain amount of information about themselves, they just didn't like the way that they were covered.
"So it's disingenuous to say they wanted everything private.

"I do think it is sad just sad to have to air all of this in public, obviously they are very dissatisfied with that conversation they had with Prince Charles and William, to call it unproductive- and nobody's talked to Meghan."
Ranvir said: "Telling a very prominent TV presenter who you know is going to go on tv and talk about it, what is the gain for Harry and Meghan in allowing that information out?
"It is seems little bit mean spirited, you’ve had your moment, you’ve had your two hours on television where you said everything you wanted to say, and everything left on the cutting room floor.

Ranvir added: "You get the sense that maybe they thought they have said all this, there is going to be a phone call they are going to go, 'We are so sorry! We are terrible people!"
"Maybe they did apologise, but it seems they didn't get what they wanted, an immediate release of guilt and shame and, 'We are so sorry', an outpouring.
"It feels like they didn't get that really, and that's what they were looking for."
