ITV Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid leaves Piers Morgan for dust on The Chase

Viewers have claimed Susanna Reid delivered a superior performance  on ITV's The Chase when she appeared alongside her GMB co-host

Ms Reid appeared on ITV's award winning gameshow earlier this evening alongside her  GMB colleagues Piers Morgan and Kate Garraway.

And though the team failed to win the £82,000 prize fund they had built up, some viewers thought Susanna was the clear winner.

Mark Labbett said: "@susannareid100  is good enough to be on my quiz team any day,@piersmorgan  on the other hand."

Sammysnake8 said: "As I always suspected @susannareid100 is the real brains of #GMB and @piersmorgan is the duck egg!!!! #TheChase."

Woonies13 said: "@susannareid100 needs to make @piersmorgan suffer on Monday. She stormed it! #thechase."

Good Morning Britain tweeted: "It wasn't to be. Bradley may have taken away the cash but nobody can take away @susannareid100's performance.  #TheChase."

Piers was in the news only recently when he delivered a sharp response to actor and comedian Adil Ray. Mr Ray appeared on BBC topical panel show Have I Got News For You when he made a jibe at Piers.

The 45-year-old has often stood in for Piers on GMB and said: "You know what the best thing about standing in for Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain is that you don't have to meet Piers Morgan."

Piers, himself, happened to be watching the programme and said: "My occasional @GMB stand-in Adil Ray on @haveigotnews: ‘The best thing about filling in for Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain is you don’t have to meet Piers Morgan!’

"For my part, the best thing about Adil filling in for me is he always tanks the ratings..."
