Survivor: Australia V The World has officially come to an end. But alongside the end of the season, comes the end of an era with Jonathan LaPaglia officially hanging up *HIS* snuffer as Australian Survivor host.
Earlier this year, the Australian Survivor fanbase was sent into a major tizzy after Network 10 announced that Jonathan LaPaglia had been axed as host, confirming that Survivor: Australia V The World would be his final season.
After weeks upon weeks of speculation, the network confirmed that David ‘Golden God’ Genat would be taking over as host following his early elimination from Survivor: Australia: V The World.
“10 is thrilled to confirm the ‘Golden God’ — David Genat — will be at the helm, commentating every challenge and tribal council as castaways battle it out for the title of Sole Survivor in Australian Survivor: Redemption,” the network announced.
And now, with the season officially done and dusted, it’s hit reality that LaPaglia is officially gone — or voted off, as they say on the show.

Ahead of the season’s final shebang, LaPaglia shared an Instagram post promoting the grand finale. But instead of excitement, fans flooded the comments, expressing the OG Australian Survivor zaddy for all the work he’s done over the years.
“Ready for the finale. But SO NOT READY to say goodbye to you JLP,” one fan wrote.
“The finale is going to be bitter-sweet that’s for sure! Aus survivor won’t be the same without you,” another commented.
“I’m excited to see who wins. I am not excited for this to be over or to say goodbye to you in this role. Thank you for all that you did for this show, for all you all you brought to the role. You made Australian Survivor what it is,” wrote a third.
Some fans also went on X (formerly Twitter), expressing they weren’t ready to kiss JLP goodbye as Australian Survivor host.

There have been rumours swirling that JLP could be making a return. However, the network nor JLP himself has yet to confirm any of the tea.
