The government has announced that people who get a positive lateral flow test will not need to to get take a follow-up PCR test if they are asymptomatic.
The new rule will come into effect on the 11th January, with the government also having announced that the isolation period following a positive result will be cut to seven days.
This is as long as lateral flow tests on the sixth and seventh days are negative.
