Surprising fee Nottingham Forest reportedly ready to pay for midfielder revealed

The amount of cash Nottingham Forest are reportedly willing to pay to secure the signature of midfielder Samba Sow has been revealed.

The Reds are said to be on the verge of signing the 30-year-old from Dynamo Moscow as head coach Sabri Lamouchi looks to further bolster his squad before the new Championship campaign.

And Russian media outlet Sport Express claim the fee for Sow would be just 700,000 euros, which is little more than £640,000.

They add “the deal should be announced soon”, with the Mali international having fallen down the pecking order at Moscow.

He made the move to Russia in the summer of 2017 from Turkish team Kayserispor, and is said to have another 12 months to run on his contract with his current club.

Forest have already brought in seven new additions, with Rafa Mir becoming the latest arrival on Tuesday when he joined on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Ahead of what they hope will be a promotion push – and with the new term kicking off this weekend – the Reds have also signed Sammy Ameobi, Tiago Silva, Alfa Semedo, Yuri Ribeiro, Arijanet Muric and Albert Adomah.

Lamouchi had spoken of his desire to strengthen further, before the window closes at 5pm next Thursday (August 8).
