Surprise Browns duo ranks 13th in top QB-receiver combinations

Baker Mayfield is firmly established as the starting quarterback of the Cleveland Browns. Most everyone expects newcomer Odell Beckham Jr. to be the Browns top wideout in 2019. The duo figures to be among the most electrifying, exciting and productive QB/WR combinations in the entire NFL.

Yet when it came to ranking the league’s top QB-receiver duos, our colleagues at Touchdown Wire opted for a different receiver than Beckham for Mayfield and the Browns.

I’ll let analyst Barry Werner speak for himself here…

Before everyone loses it, Odell Beckham Jr. has to prove he can act and play maturely. Jarvis Landry is dependable, a strong receiver and a fabulous target. You don’t get antics from him. Until we see OBJ leave the nonsense behind the keep the focus on the field, he does not bump Landry.

The Mayfield-Landry pairing lands at No. 13 in the rankings. That’s respectable. It’s also quite a bit lower than most would rank Mayfield and Beckham even before the two have played a regular-season snap together.
