Seven-time Supercars champion Jamie Whincup claimed his second Sunday race win at the Newcastle 500 but it was Scott McLaughlin celebrating back-to-back titles.
Starting from pole position, Whincup was all class at the season-ending event and it came two years after he tasted victory in the corresponding race to clinch his most recent overall crown.

Whincup finished two seconds clear of Fabian Coulthard, who was third just 24 hours earlier in race one of the Newcastle 500.
Tim Slade rounded out the podium in third and McLaughlin was fourth.
Saturday's race winner and runner-up in the 2019 driver championship Shane van Gisbergen came from 21st on the grid to finish seventh.
The team championship went to Shell V-Power courtesy of McLaughlin and Coulthard. Red Bull Holden, steered by Whincup and van Gisbergen, were second.
McLaughlin did burnouts at the hairpin turn near Nobby's Beach before being presented with the main trophy.
